Exactly - I was trying to think of a suitable way of putting it. Americans positively prefer international (i.e. usually American) chains of hotels and restaurants becasue they are the 'safe' option. Many (but not all) Europeans prefer places with individuality, and avoid the chains except as a last resort. |
