Well, that was sort of the case with the original "Pelham 123" and it was definitely the case with "The Money Train." Due to security considerations, the MTA would not let the movie producers use anything remotely resembling the actual TA revenue collection cars so the car resembling a stainless steel LST on wheels was built for the movie. Also, the TA did not want any scenes from this movie shot on TA property, so the prodiction compant bought some scrapped R-27s for the scenes of a regular train and constructed a subway tunnel above ground on the movie company's lot to shoot the necessary scenes. |
