If he's looking for a railfan for technical info, ask him to get in touch with me. At the time the original movie was filmed, I was the AM console dispatcher in charge of the Lexington Av console in the Command Center. A high ranking official in TA public relations originally promised me a cameo role in the movie, but due to a conflict between the producers and the TA legal department, the movie company was barred from using any TA facility or personnel other than the train, its crew and the portions of the system on which it operated. Thus the "Grand Central Tower" and the "Command Center" in the movie were sets, not on location. Subsequent to my Command Center assignment, I ended up in the Schedule Dept doing IRT schedules and spent almost 2 years as a trainmaster before returning to the Schedule Dept as a Supt/Schedule mgr. If anyone is looking for someone to help avoiid technical errors, I just MIGHT be able to meet those needs. |
