The parking there is horrible-- Fresh Direct trucks clog the streets until early afternoon. The train ride is a cinch by comparison. One reason trains go there is simply so they have a place to turn, as capacity at Penn Station is limited. Even if no passengers actually wanted to go to LIC, some of the trains would have to turn there. ESA will alleviate that problem somewhat, although the LIC yard will still be there and useful for turning. |
