Maryland is so Democratic the Republican Party in any way, shape or form is irreverent. They haven't had a majority since WWII and modern Maryland political history hasn't had a Republican Governor succeed themselves since 1947. Only twice in the last 45 years has a Republican occupied the State House and that was because the Democrats screwed up and I was around to see both. #1 was Agnew and #2 was Erlich. At least he didn't get indited for something. He wound up on Talk Radio, which is were most Republicans wind up in the Free State. |
