Okay, I guess that I see although I'm not sure why you're "ROFL" at the failure. I would prefer to save money and have them work.There are many reasons why we didn't order Siemens "exactly like the others we have here". Most importantly we wanted cars that would work on all of the lines. We also wanted to get some of the modern amenities that have been introduced to light rail over the last 20 years. What I don't understand is why we order such expensive LRVs? They all come as single cars capable of operating independently. With the crowding that we have on the blue line and similar situations expected on both expo and the gold line to east la why not order cars that have operators cabs at only one end? Aside from the gold line how often do we operate single car lrv's? Almost never. Wouldn't it be a big money saver to have cars with only one cab? And how about cars with no operators cab? The blue line runs 3 cars most of the day. The 4 additional operators cabs are both a waste of space and money. |
