Suspected terrorists are not "combatants on the field of battle." A member of a terrorist organization who conspires to blow up a building is a criminal; a person suspected of such is a suspected criminal.Given what you posted, suspected terrorists would fall outside the Geneva conventions, but as suspected criminals, they would be protected by the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendments, the right to habeas corpus, etc. |
