On second thought, asking "Am I under arrest" should be the follow-up to "Am I free to go."I asked neither question. However, after cuffing me, the officer stated: "You're not under arrest," and the fact that I was cuffed and ordered to sit and stay on a bench indicated that I was not free to go. I did ask them to provide the probable cause that they were required to have after they took the camera, but they said only: "We suspect you're going to do something illegal" and "We're conducting an investigation." |
