I wonder if they seriously ever considered connecting LIC terminal on the Lower Montauk to the southern East River tube to Manhattan. I know they would have to sink the line and reconfigure everything on the LIC side but you could have some limited LIRR-NJT thru running trains to Jamaica and beyond. |
