I did like the railfan windows on the "Redbirds" for example. Before the R-62As got the full width cabs, they had railfan windows. The best railfan windows were on the Slant R-40s. Now you have "Smear-o-Vision" railfan windows on the newer cars if you can even get a railfan window. The NYCTA should us ethe SEPTA design idea and have sit down railfan windows.#3 West End Jeff |
