I'll always have a fondness for older equipment. The Redbirds, R-32's, R-38's are my favorites.

New equipment have the advantage of offering more features and having the provisions to meet the needs of transit operations of tomorrow, whereas older equipment does not have the all the requisite components to operate, let's say, in a fully automated subway system.

My favorite memories were mostly rides on the Flushing Line, which I rode since I was about six years old. That's where my Redbird appreciation began.
