they DO HAVE a blueprint of a planned underground walkway connection between Eastern Parkway station and the Brooklyn Museum.

Keep in mind that the Brooklyn Museum as actually built is only about one-quarter the size of what had been planned. In fact I believe it would have been the largest museum in the world had the original plans been realized. A direct connection to the subway certainly would have made sense, indeed been almost mandatory, under those circumstances.
