IIRC and this was over 20 years ago, there were two extra fieldshunting steps in the SCM box which would only come in with Wayside Regulated mode enabled. I recall (and this was all in the pre-castration days) that there were still some cars around in the mid-80s where you could move the switch to Wayside Regulated and the entire train would be noticeably faster. In Wayside Regulated mode, IIRC, a different set of trainlines was in use above and beyond the usual GS, 1-8. |
