You'd need millions of dollars to change the platforms around for turnstiles and booths, and even more would need to be spent for every hour of operation on the SIRT to man those booths. With POP you could have the fare enforcement match the ridership, such that costs would not be excessive. Best of all the only thing needed would be some MVMs under a shelter at the stations. |
