Besides, you'd end up spending more money on your diverging tunnel than by connecting the existing 63rd St tunnel, already paid for, to Grand Central. Right now the cost of that tunnel from Sunnyside Yard (not counting route connection costs in the Yard) all the way to 2nd Av (not including tracks, signaling and power) is zero. |
