A premium version of the permit which would be valid nationally (i.e., other US transit systems) That is another reason why I suggested the Transit Museum as the venue for issuing permits. Many Museums do cross honor memberships from similar museums. The Dakota Zoo honors memberships from other zoos (in their association) and provides a list of zoos that accept their memberships. It would be an easy matter for PATH or NJT to honor an NYC pass, and vice versa. Permits ought not be necessary, but if they are, then we need to get them out there and to the people that want them as soon as possible. The MTA would not be able to set something up this fast, but the Transit Museum could. Somebody could donate a computer, and more expensive would be the machine to print and laminate the passes. Somebody *could* donate one of these also. I think that NICE letters suggesting this might help. |
