A "Press Identification" doesn't allow you to cross police lines in emergency areas, only at non-emergency events like parades. A "Working Press" tag allows you to do so and is harder to be be approved for. I had the former until 2002, when they put more (post 9/11) restrictions to qualify and gave up the renewal. On top of that, the publication that gave me the credentials went belly up last year. :( |
