Yup, that's how I am too. I have a pretty compact digital camera that even fits in my pocket (if I wear loose pants). But even when I carried my more bulky 35MM camera around, often times I would not keep that out either. Even when I used my camera bag, I had it in a shopping bag, as not to draw attention to it. That was always my method of photography anyway. I started taking photos back in the early 90's or late 80's, and then I did it much more often, and especially back then, when neighborhoods were more questionable than now, it was never a good idea to flash your camera around anyway, and railfanning often times brings you to some questionable neighborhoods (in all cities, not just NY). I got in that habit, and it stuck. |
