I want to publish a book, about 60 pages or so long, full color pictures of subway subjects. Appropriate text and stories to go with it. I'll need about 80 full color photos of subway subjects. 1) you must own the rights to them, and allow them to be published 2) you must have the name of the photographer (yourself) 3) address and etc. 4) time date and place of the photograph 5) interesting information on the subject, camera settings etc. 6) you should be able to write a short article about your photograph, about 20 lines, maybe more 7) a photo of yourself This is a flegdling publication so there will be no payment for photos or articles, and copies of the book, in full color, may be purchased (on-line) for about $15, maybe more, I'm not sure about the price yet. I would plan to print similar books perhaps twice each year, as long as I can get the material to print. All you get out of it is being published as a freelance photographer. Maybe that will help you to get a Press Card from the Police Department. If I make any money from the sale of the books, I'll put up a web site to promote the books and try to do them on a regular basis. Perhaps an on-line version as well as a print version. The photographs MUST be of very high quality worthy of full color publication. Good story writing is also essential. What shall we call our publication? "Transit Lions", "SubChat Journal", we probably need a contest just to name our publication. Elias |
