I rode it often at 2 am on my way back from work during 1965-66 when I lived in Ocean Parkway. At that time it was a 3-car B set and I never recall anyone paying on the train. OTOH, I don't recall anyone getting on at 13th or Ft.Ham. But I would have remembered (I think) if the conductor had a coin changer, like they had on the Q-types in the last years of Myrtle.

So I'm pretty sure the fare booths at 13th and F.H. remained open at lesat through that period and probably to the end.

BTW, R1/9s also covered the route in shuttle days.
