Baltimore Metro & LA Metro cars-similarity ? |

Posted by R42 4787 on Sat Dec 17 02:54:13 2005 I always noticed some striking similarities between the Baltimore Metro cars and the ones on the LA Metro's Red Line. The exteriors and interior are quite similar. For a while, I even thought the Baltimore cars were built by Breda! (that is, until I learned Budd/TransitAmerica built them). Were they both based on the same or similar design or is this just a coincidence? (The Baltimore Metro cars date from 1983 and the LA Metro cars from 1993, about a decade apart). |
