Law enforcement is funded on the local level.Subway operations are funded on the local and state level. The homeless cannot be given a choice in the subway system any more. About a week ago, I had to switch cars twice from a homeless guy that was having a bad day along with a bunch of other people. As the shelter capacity eases ever so slightly, they can return them to their original function of housing the homeless. You don't want everything to be federalized. Yes, the federal government can solve the problem, but you may not like it. Most systems are not dealing with this issue. The subway is not a place for people to live. |
