IINM each carbody has a pair of truck bolsters that simply lower onto each truck. Then the electrical connections are made. If you lift a carbody, the trucks stay on the ground. The story goes that some the truck bolsters on the BMT standards were so worn that there was a concern the trucks would keep right on going after the train itself stopped! |
