Miami Dade Transit has a similar system in place. Every bus and train of theirs won't move until the operator verifies their ID number for that run as well as interior displays showing the Operator ID. (This was one of the teething issues with their Hitachi cars where the train would reset and abruptly go BIE until the operator entered their ID again, has since been fixed). Perhaps NYCT should look into this type of technology. |
