I am not turning SubChat into OTChat, but the reality is that transportation and politics are heavily intertwined. It always has been and because transportation modes are the blood vessels of a society, it always will be. The people who can't handle that can go to NurseryChat and suck their thumbs.Amtrak still existed after the first Trump Administration and it will still exist after the second Trump Administration. It annoys me that people don't understand that Trump doesn't really care what we build here as long as it provides Americans more quality jobs. That means he will be happy to see more buses and trains built here. If you have a plan that is cost-effective and has transportation value, it will still go forward. Do I think it is useful that Amtrak goes to Ronkonkoma? Not really? Is it an elegant solution to lower the pressure on Sunnyside Yard? Maybe. Will LIers ride it? Absolutely. |
