Republicans like modern fast trains, not slow ones. Amtrak has figured this out and have crafted a plan that should do fine in the second Trump administration.

The only constraint is whether the railcar manufacturers can keep up with demand. Even if a bunch of new cars get put on slow trains, industrial manufacturing is how you naturally raise the living standards across the country. If you are reliable and can stay off drugs, manufacturers will teach you how to do what they need. This is a desirable outcome for the new administration.
