Diesels are internal combustion engines. For ICEs, we have the Otto cycle (gasoline, after Nikolaus Otto) and the Diesel cycle (for Rudolf Diesel; he intended his engine to be truly "flex-fuel", even including pulverized coal as a potential fuel). |
