Hmm.
These cars were just like the cars the IRT operated.
Were the dimensions the same?

Im gathering they were similar, since the Atlantic Tunnels were built for trains this size.
Modification was carried out, so the larger railcars could operate through.

So what changed?

Did the LIRR really need to purchase larger cars to operate,or separate itself from the rapid transit system?
