I'm not sure, as back then, I didn't know that the R-40M (4450-4549) and R-42 (4550-4949) were different classes (not knowing any of the contract numbers (no internet back then), I had lumped the 40M and 42 into a class that I called "A/C" (for obvious reasons, although I did that before I knew that R40S 4350-4449 were also air conditioned)What I remember (just the 42s) was: 4550-4599: N 4600-4697?: AA , B 4698-480?: D (and maybe also CC). I'm not sure about the rest. Pretty sure the 4900s were on the LL, lower 4800s may have been on the RR, higher 4800s on the J or M. Again, some of these may be incorrect, if they are, don't get excited about it, it has been 47 years. |
