The Triplexes could easily have lasted another ten years. It's just that the R-32s were being delivered so rapidly, they had to make room for them, so the Triplexes became sacrificial lambs. Besides, they were labeled as, "non-standard" with their articulating design, and the TA wanted to get rid of everything that was deemed non-standard. A crying shame, if you ask me. While the R-16s were put out of their misery, the Triplexes were sent to premature slaughter. |
