IRT High Voltage Steel Subway cars had a WHITE LINE under the number

IRT Low Voltage Steel STEINWAY cars (standard body and 1939 WF Class) had a RED LINE under the number

IRT Low Voltage Steel Standard Body cars had NO LINE under their numbers
