I rode this service yesterday and really enjoyed the trip! This was my first time riding a Stadler FLIRT and thought that it was very modern compared to most equipment in the LA area. Enjoyed lunch in downtown Redlands which has lots of bars and restaurants which I likely would never have never known existed without this rail connection.My outbound train arriving in Downtown San Bernardino  My return train after a nice, hot ramen lunch.  Only one track in downtown Redlands so all trains arrive on "Track 1"  So any guesses for why there are two platforms and only one track?
