I'm still trying to figure out why they built a Fulton St station for the "G" in the first place!I think with Brooklyn Tech and the Academy of Music close by, and in 1933 several major movie houses right there on Fulton Street, as well as the LIRR Terminal a couple of blocks away, a Fulton/Lafayette station for the then-GG would have been seen as an amenity for "uptown" Brooklyn residents traveling to these destinations. Otherwise, it would have been a bit of a walk from Hoyt-Schemerhorn or a PITA transfer to the Fulton local. |
