Interesting that Route 42 in Philly was originally Walnut and Chestnut. That for many years was SEPTA Route D and is today's Route 21 bus. The Route 42 bus still runs on Chestnut and Walnut (normally) from 33rd Street eastbound and to 34th Street Westbound before doing the "Hospital Loop" along Civic Center Boulevard to 38th and Spruce and is on Spurce and then Marshall Road (or to 61st and Pine) the rest of the way. |
