The system malfunctioned and added about 50+ gallons of excess lube oil. Loco begins to blast oil out the exhaust stack, mechanical forces assume it was a blown turbo and put it on the deadline. Reading Tech finds out and contacts CSX regarding a donation. Some VP signs off after calculating they could write off more than the resale value. At some point after the sale was inked it gets back to CSX that the loco was operable. Idk if it was before or after the transfer. Reading tech discovers the oil issue, drains excess and starts engine. It runs fine. |
