Posted by kp5308 on Wed Feb 10 21:31:55 2021 In 1984 the Everett Railroad opened for business on seven miles of railroad between Brookes Mill and Sproul PA that Conrail had deemed excess. Today the road operates 23 miles of track from Hollidaysburg to Brookes Mill where the line splits, with a branch to Martinsburg and the original route to Sproul forming the "Y" shaped short line. I got my first chance to photograph some of the EV in Hollidaysburg on the 4th.EV GP16 #1712 is stored at the end of track along 3rd Avenue south of the general office & enginehouse. The Horseshoe Curve Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS) bought them from NJT and refurbished them in 1985.
