There are a few examples in Queens of local stations having lighter colors than the previous express stations, but it's not consistent. Dark purple Queens Plaza is followed by dark purple 36 St, Steinway St, and 46 St, and then lavender (light purple) Northern Blvd and 65 St. Dark blue Roosevelt Av is followed by medium blue Elmhurst Av and Grand Av, and then light blue Woodhaven Blvd, 63 Dr, and 67 Av. Dark yellow Union Tpke is followed by dark yellow Van Wyck Blvd and then light yellow Sutphin Blvd.

On the G line, Court Sq, 21 St, Greenpoint Av, and Nassau Av are dark green, then Metropolitan Av and Broadway are a different green, then from Flushing Av to Fulton St they have still a different green.
