I can see the maintenance aspect being a big consideration. As for weight, I was thinking of an ACS-64, iirc they’re about all the weight the RR allows on 4 axles.As for power cans, hmmm, I think I prefer two because they’re fully duplicative. So when one dies, my train still moves. It’s probably not cost effective, but when there’s an era of ‘deferred maintenance’ machines that don’t care to have their maintenance deferred start deferring their motion. |
