The first cars (A650, fleet #501-530) which covered the first segment from Union Station to Westlake/MacArthur Park) were built in 1991-1993. Second phase (531-572) were built (I think) 1996-1999, Final phoase (573-604) were 1999-2000. I had heard that 501-530 would be retired once all the new cars were in, but I don't know if this is still the case. 531-604 will remain in service regardless. |
