Yep, along with this 1940 aerial shot of a work train piloted by a G53sd 4-6-0 on Jamaica Bay driving home new piles needed when ice floes knocked the wooden trestle ROW out of alignment. Very costly for the LIRR. JUst another reason why the railroad wanted to unload the line on the City even back then. |
