I appreciate your interest in and study of railroad signals. I would imagine that wayside signals serve as backup to cab signals. Are cab signals driven by track circuits and/or are satellites ever employed to determine a locomotive's physical position? I can see the wisdom of using duplicate systems at interlocking plants. |
