For some reason, after the R-10s through 15s, the B of T and TA went back to the “subway green” or olive drab of the R-1/9s the only exception being the R-17 which were pained a maroon. I even recall seeing the last of the R-22s arriving in 240 St Yd brand new and being surprised at how green they actually looked. Fortunately a few better heads prevailed and the TA opted for a more cheerful paint scheme which started with the tartar red R-29s. |
