Not hyperbole...train 176 has 5 collectors, in addition to the conductor and assistant conductor...1 conductor + 1 assistant conductor + 5 collectors = 7 trainpeople 7 trainpeople + 1 engineperson = 8 employees to run the one train... Trains 44, 416, 1612, 1618, 1620, 1622, 2008, 2014, 2852, 123, 131, 2061, 2063, 2351, 6108, 8063 also have 5 collectors. Train 1707 has 6 collectors for a total of 9 employees onboard. Train 123 has 6 collectors on holiday eves. Train 6102 has 8 collectors for a total of 11 employees onboard. The Cannonball has 10 collectors. ...and that doesn't count deadheading employees who are still on the clock and getting paid but not working. |
