The answer to your question is the responsibilities of conductors, assistant conductors, and collectors would either be assumed by the engineperson or replaced by technologyThat's not an answer. Never mind the costs of railroading not going down in spite of whatever they do outside the US. Proof-of-payment and eliminating conductors is very likely the single biggest thing the railroad's can do to improve service That'd be the single biggest thing to make service worse. |
