So the reality is that in general transit use has increased over the 'bad old dsays' of the 19xxs and the various transit agencies have been slow to increase their fleets, speed up trains, etc. I far prefer this to notices of service cuts, discontinuances, last runs. I would, however echo Jarrett Walker (humatransit.org) who writeshttp://humantransit.org/2018/03/basics-slower-speed-is-a-service-cut.html because he is correct IMHO. |
