I suspect that the second of Georges’ shots is two track operation rather than single track for two reasons. AFAIK, the single tk operation was on the northbound tk and the train in the photo is on the S/B tk. Also the train in the photo is equipped with kerosene deck lamps instead of the battery lamps which were installed circa 1956. That means that the train in question is either a Steinway prior to the installation of the battery lamps or a H-V none of which ever got them. |
