Paul Carleton's H&M Revisited book has Pavonia station becoming Erie Station and then Newport station after the Erie moved service to Hoboken.Locating Newport station on Historic Aerials and then rolling back the dates shows a building fitting your picture next to the Erie roundhouse in 1966 and then standing isolated in 1979. In 1987 it has a rebuilt shape and in 1994 the present entry building appears 250-300 feet east on land that was tracks and parking in 1966. The rebuilt shape shows in Google street view in the median of Washington Blvd. on the north side of Town Square Pl.. Bill |
