I actually asked if that would have been a possibility now, when they're rebuilding the connector viaduct, we're it not for the structure now on the old platform. Nobody answered that question, but there are two issues - the first is that the el structure was built for narrower cars, so the platform edge would have to be cut back. The second is if the girder placement - further down the line, it wasn't only the platform edge that was too close, but the actual structural girders - which, if also the case at Broadway, would make it impossible to run B division cars to the upper level.Regards, subfan |
