Currently on the former BMT subway line UNDER Fourth Avenue - today's D, N and R lines - three subway stations are being upgraded. These stations are Prospect Avenue/Fourth Avenue, 53rd Street/Fourth Avenue, and the Bay Ridge Avenue station also on Fourth Avenue. This renovation work started in Jun 2017 and is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2017. This information IS posted on the MTA website, and riders have been incouraged to used the B63 bus, and te B37 bus. The B37 bus travels along Third Avenue and the B63 bus travels along Fifth Avenue. On some weekends when R-train or N-train service has been disrupted, and when shuttle bus service has been instituted some or all of these stations have been covered by such shuttle bus service.
