I remember riding on a dark lead motor of a prewar Ethel to Roosevelt Ave on - of all days - July 1, 1968. My mother and I were on our way to LGA to meet my aunt, who flew in from Chicago to see a performance at Lincoln Center. There was no security then, either. We just walked right to the gate where her plane was. |
